I have been hired by a family to take ALL their family moment portraits. So far I have shot a wedding, a senior session and today a maternity session.
We tried to do it a few weeks ago in the studio with more traditional posing and while the images came out great, the feel of it was just a bit off. It took me a little while to put my finger on it and then I realized the problem…this couple is just too young for the traditional stuff. We needed to try something different.
I started running down the list of locations that either I have used or that I have been wanting to use for a shoot. A lot of them centered around graffiti…so we made the decision to give the graffiti maternity shoot a try.
I am pretty happy with the results, the setting seemed so much more fitting for this couple and we had a lot of fun shooting so their emotions were very natural and loving.
We had postponed this shoot a couple of times and today, I overslept, the weather had been crappy and we had discussed waiting until tomorrow. Well good thing we didn’t because mom-to-be decided that going in to labor a few hours after our shoot was the best course of action. I am currently waiting for word that their baby girl has made her appearance.
